Stop Resisting

He says, “We could be enjoying each other if you’d just stop resisting what you’re feeling. You know you want me. You know you’ve been dreaming about how good it’ll be. You know you won’t be able to hold out much longer. Give in. It’ll be good. Hell, it’ll be great.” And the woman is sitting at the table, staring at this sexy brownie who’s giving her this spiel. And she’s clearly lapping it up. She’s about to give in.

Wait a second. In what way does the brownie look sexy?

Well, I guess he looks like a sexy guy.

A small chocolate sexy guy? And when she gives in, what happens? She picks him up and bites him? That’s kind of disgusting.

Oh come on – ads personify food all the time. What about Snap, Crackle and Pop?

Their message is that it’s fun to eat cereal. You’re trying to say it’s sexy to eat brownies.

You’re always telling me that sex sells. I’m just taking your advice.

Sure, you can say it’s sexy to eat brownies. Or that the desire to eat brownies is equivalent to sexual desire. I just don’t think you’re going about it the right way.

Okay, try this. We see this sexy woman in a negligee. She’s sitting at a table – or no, she’s sitting on a bed, and she’s saying, “We could be enjoying each other if you’d just stop resisting what you’re feeling. You should stop playing hard to get. I want you, and I know you want me too. Why don’t you just come over here and let me show you how much I love you.” And then we see that she’s talking to a brownie. And then she eats the brownie.

Now you have an idea that we can pitch. Let’s celebrate.

You want some brownies?
