Dear friends,

I am staying in a cottage on Gabriola Island for two weeks while I work on my novel, Fire in the Hole, the second novel of a mystery series. The first one was Firekill. It’s somewhat discouraging to be writing the second when I have not yet been able to find a publisher for the first, but it is what it is. We have to keep writing.

I have had some encouragement with a recent sale of a long story to Dimension6. I’ll update you as to when it comes out.

At the moment, my schedule is to think, walk and write, so this is a perfect place for that. I can gaze out to sea as I think, I can walk along the road looking out to sea, then come home and write.

A friend, Kathy Steinemann, has asked me to post a Christmas story, so I’ll be re-posting one of my 365 Stories. It’s a little dark, but fun.

Keep writing!
